We had bathfitters redo our fist bathroom 10 years ago, workmanship and cost was good. Two years ago had another bathroom done, and from the very first day their workmanship was poor. After completion called them back, they came, cleaned up and "fixed" things we had noticed. They installed a new shower door for $350, it was as flimsy as paper, we asked them to remove and we would get our own, we "special" ordered one from Home Depot, it's cost $150 and it is beautiful. We have had two leaks in ceiling below this bathroom, costing us initially $1200 to repair(by someone other than Bath fitter). A new ceiling was installed and painted after working 8 hours in an attempt to find the leak. Now, it's leaking again, on our new ceiling. And now, we have discovered where the leak is coming from-water between the tiles left on shower floor and the new cover they placed. I am so mad I could spit! One of the guys that worked on this project for Bathfitters told us that their work was so shoddy that he would be quitting as it was embarassing. I will now proceed with the Better Business Bureau.

High turnover rates for this company is not uncommon. I personally quit after 7-8 months because i was so distraught over the crap that this company instructs us to tell the customer that I developed a bleeding ulcer. It killed me to try to help honest, nice people get through the crap that is caused by their terrible installations and shoddy product. All of the installation people are really nice and do the best that they can for the FIVE DAYS OF TRAINING that they are given...Long story short- its a great product concept that is made poorly. Wonderful installation people with not enough training, well meaning employees who have to go by greedy corporate rules and a profit margin that is one for the hall of fame. They cut corners and do terrible things to cover their mistakes...ex: I had one installer call to see if we had an extra tub liner in a certain size because the bowl of the tub would not go completely down over the old one- there was about a 2-3 inch gap (due to poor measuring). When the area manager found out, he instructed him to just pad it with layers of tape (the adhesive tape that is used to secure the liner to the tub...its about a quarter inch thick.)The managers laugh about BBB complaints...just save yourself the time and get it done correctly by a professional! Hope this helps!

Try Re-Bath. Less expensive and nicer product. Did a lot of research on both companies. Had 2 bathrooms done now by them... Installers are great!

Complaining to the BBB will do very little. My branch had BBB certification year after year inspite of numerous complaints like yours. Try complaining to head office. They may be able to help.

Sorry to hear about your situation but shody work was pretty common at my branch. There are some good installers but there are far too many bad ones that are allowed to continue.

I do not recommend Bath Fitters.
